Spotlight Suicide Prevention

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the US. The CDC reports that in 2018 it was the 10th top cause across all US populations. It was the second leading cause in the 10-34 age group, and fourth between the ages of 35-54.
Suicide is a particular problem for the US military. Recent studies suggest that suicide rates for veterans and active military members are around 150% of those for their civilian peers. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a significant increase in the number of suicides, but it will take time before the statistics can be compiled.
If you or someone you know is contemplating suicide, these resources could save a life. Don't be embarrassed or afraid to reach out for help. Stop the stigma!
